Well, GetMyTent is all about tents and making sure YOU get the information you need.

So let’s take the tent to pieces to understand why you should/shouldn’t get the MSR Hubba Hubba NX2 tent.

In nutshell: Compact, light 2-person tent preferred by the backpackers and it optimized for them in every way. The dome shape maximizes the inner space as much as possible and the two spacious vestibules allow storing most of your gears outside the sleeping space. Pitching is easy and quick!

Now most of the 2 persons tents are actually one person plus the backpackNOT THIS ONE!

This is THE TENT what can easily accommodate both you and your travel buddy/spouse in the nature. This is mainly thanks to the nearly perpendicular walls to the floor.

easy pitching tentThe walls are far enough from each other (inner and outer) so the ventilation is optimal and condensation of the excess water on the wall hardly ever occur – again thanks to the net running around the peak of the inner dome and the distance between walls.

Speaking of ventilation: Hubba Hubba NX has the brilliant feature of applying the so called ‘kickstand vents’. These little plastic splines are super helpful tools to maintain and add further ventilation.

(It might be useful to check out this Camping Checklist article, before going outdoors!)

It fixes the distance between the two walls, making sure that rain and wind will not cause leakage as easy as without these splines. I, personally love these and the Velcro makes it really easy to apply and remove.

The poles are pretty straight forward and the color coding is just a plus. It is obvious how to assemble the alloys – thanks to the hub ring what keeps the poles organized. To fix the tent the MSR provides 6 stakes and two guy lines.

Even though the easiness of construction doesn’t provide a solid stability during harsh situations, so it will be perfect if you don’t go to any extreme places where precipitation and wind would be an issue. If so, just find some rocks near you and take some extra threads for additional support.

spacious tentHubba Hubba NX2 provides the rainfly option as I already mentioned in this Top 5 Best Camping Tents article. It is for summer daytime, when you just want to chill in the tent’s shade.

I have tried for the sake of it, but I prefer the whole tent to be pitched over the outer canopy with the footprint.

Usually, I just mention the material of the packing sack, but this time I must spend a whole paragraph on it.

This is among the very few packing sacks which is not the original style. That is squeezing all excess air and wrap it super tight before you could even consider shooting in its sack. It has a wide mouth with two relatively strong buckle-belts on it, so packing is super convenient and quick compared to the traditional method.

This is how big it is, while attached to a backpack!

There are exactly certain things, I like and some I don’t. This things I would like to point out as Hubba’s NX2 strong points:

  • Two doors with huge vestibules at each doors;
  • Durable material used;
  • Light weight;
  • Quick to set;
  • Wide inner space.

On contrary, the weak points:  1) can’t be taken to the extreme places with harsh conditions, which definitely are disadvantages for professionals and 2) more expensive than similar class products gathering from an offline vendor.

If you about to purchase one of those, I recommend you to check out the Amazon online for a better price and FREE shipment.

Hope I made a point, and this article will help you to find your perfect option. If you aren’t sure that this Hubba Hubba NX2 tent is for you, you might check my Top 5 Best Camping Tent Review to get more knowledge!
